We stopped here briefly during our cruise. The Captain had decided due to the bad weather forecast that he wouldn't be stopping in Andalanes. We had bought train tickets independently for the train that leaves Andalanes. We went into the tourist office and a lovely, very attractive young lady with long black hair at the counter was very helpful. She spent ages on the phone contacting the train company, explaining our predicament and she got us our money back. Thank you very much, I'm sorry I didn't get your name.

It's our first time to visit Norway and we had a self-drive holiday in July 2015, travelling from Kristiansund, Atlantic Road, Molde, Andalenes, Geiranger, Alesund. The maps taken from the tourist information office is superb, as it allows us to have physical maps to identify the attractions along the way. More importantly, these information are much more useful than the car's GPS, as it is quite handicapped in the design. The staff in the information office is very patient, helpful, proactive. it's a good place to get some information before further your way in the trip. Drop in a few minutes to get the information.

Very experinced staff with good knowledge of the area. Trustworthy and nice and kind. Especially the leading lady at the office is nice. We have donated pictures to them that feature the famous Atlanterhavsveien amongst other.

If you need to understand what to do and how to travel on the "Atlantic Road" no body would deal that better than then the Kristiansund Tourism board guys. The Tourism and the bus depot guys were brilliant, they would tell you if you would be able to take the bus through the route and return in time to catch your return catamaran back to Trondheim, the Last service back to Trondheim in October when we travelled was around 17;15 or 17:30hrs.

This was an unplanned stop on our cruise, so we knew little about the area. We were given details of local walks, which we enjoyed. Plus how we could use the local buses to go along the Atlantic Road. A lot cheaper than the cruise trip and you could go at your own pace.

I will be visiting Kristiansund as part of a party of four on September 11 via a cruise. I am interested in a tour that includes the Atlantic Road, which looks like a route that is very unique. Can you advise me as to how to arrange for a such a tour. As I said, I have a party of four and the road does not look like a route for a tourist to drive via a rental car. Thank you.
