Okay, so it’s on stilts and not exactly floating on water. But this is a charming little mosque directly in the waterfront and is well maintained with stunning views.

The mosque is built on stilts and goes across the water hence the name, floating mosque. The Kapital Keling mosque is more popular because of its location in Georgetown and its colonial style architecture. This mosque is more for the local community but Muslims who...More

It's better to visit at evenning, the sunset & sea view (fishers village & boat are along the beach) are the best

This is a very misleading name for the this mosque. Yes it is over water but it is by no means floating. The mosque is built on stilts.

Interesting floating market but not one that you MUST see and experience. Nothing memorable about it, can be done in thirty minutes.

Penang has many very interesting temples, churches and mosques. This mosque is very unusual inasmuch as it is built over water of the adjoining Straits of Melacca!! It is easily accessible by bus [number 101 from Georgetown or Batu Ferringhi- but please remember that it...More

Beautiful mosque built on pillars and when the tides in it flows all round and under the mosque and looks like it’s floating.

A serene, peaceful mosque facing the sea. For a muslim, this mosque would be worthwhile to pay a visit while in Penang.
