The pavilion currently hosts a free exhibition about the national trust. There's several interactive points and lots of chances to hear from volunteer on video. For a free exhibition it's worth a trip but the disabled access is by a rear door. This shouldn't cause an issue once inside.

The place itself is rather grim and gloomy, but a fascinating reminder of the past. Built to withstand Napoleon, it continued to be used to house and train the military thereafter, often whole families occupying one small section. Best of all was the guided tour, I happened to be the only one on it and so asked a number of... More

My husband & I visited the fort as we are both interested in military history. This is a fascinating & historic piece of military architecture. We booked for the guided tour which I can highly recomend, the guide was extremly knowledgeable & took his time to explain anything we were not sure of.

We just came across this as we were walking along the sea front after breakfast. It's free to walk around but you do have to pay if you want to go into the museum. There a small shop and coffee shop Nice to read about the fort and the history of the cannons. Great views out to sea.

This place holds much history of the war years. It has displays during the year which are well advertised . Not very accessible for disabled and wheelchair users

I'm disabled so my husband walked down the Steps of the Fort to look around it and the other buildings. The only Access by wheelchair to see anything, is to go all the way around, then View from The Top Looking Down in a very easy to wheel around place!

Made most of the sunshine today....The Pavillion (free) and stones throw The Redoubt Fortress. This place is a hidden jam.... you enter a large circular parade ground all brick worked. A welcome break is the cafe with a vintage feel...you get a proper sized mug of tea in there!! We sat outside in the sun with a creamed tea. Priced... More

We did not go to the museum but we could absorb the history of this building just from the outside and the walk in the main areas. It is one of those buildings that will make you go back in history and think about how they used to live not many years ago. From the canons and weapons, to the... More
