I have been going to Christchurch for nearly 40 years and I have never grown bored of it. Aspects it changed over time, but it remains a fascinating place, and great for children too.

What a fascinating building to visit. Going back into the past with amazing room layouts - like the kitchen - and interesting displays to look at in the many rooms open for perusal. The building itself is great and has the feel of a family house - as indeed it was and set in beautiful parkland. Café mediocre but the... More

If you like vintage and history, you should visit this place! It's free and there's a lovely cafe (and gift shop) on site. There are guided tours, too (but not every day) Even if you miss it, there is plenty of information available in booklets at the exhibitions (i.e. in the rooms) Also, perfect for a rainy day (once the... Visited this magnificent mansion several times over the years, first with our children and then with grandchildren also when visiting Ipswich, Christchurch Park and a couple of hours to spare. Very helpful and informative volunteering attendants. Top quality art exhibitions quite often on view. Cosy cafe with adequate snacks.

The Christchurch Mansion was a 10 minute walk from our hotel on Neptune Quay. Free entrance, helpful staff and some lovely paintings of Constable and Gainsborough. (& others).

A great experience to see how people lived from more than a century ago. Very educational for kids as well and a nice family experience.

It's always a pleasure to return to Ipswich and have a look round the mansion as there's always something new and interesting to notice. Very friendly, helpful and informative staff. My only disappointment is that since the very welcome cafe moved in, the fascinating displays of artefacts, equipment, food models and utensils on display in the kitchen have had to... More

The mansion itself was undergoing an extensive refurbishment when we last visited but we were still able to go in and wander round the exhibits inside. The parkland is great for a long walk round or just to retreat to from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Very relaxing.
