Can recommend this place for children of all ages, especially in the school holidays, where all sorts of activities are laid on. Very informative and interesting.

Good place for children, adolescents, and for adults. It's free and it can be educational, relaxing, and a great place to see history

Free entry to this natural history museum. Interesting displays, heavy on taxidermy, but also other rooms of Egyptology, war time, geology, archaeology, etc etc. Interesting building. Lighting rather low (presumably to preserve artifacts) which could be a problem for anyone visually impaired. Enjoyable visit.

Our group walked out to the museum from the town centre to find a notice on the door - closed for maintenance. The art gallery next door had the same notice. Sadly there was nothing about this on their website......not very impressed.

With museums trying their utmost to drag themselves into the modern era by interesting and inspiring people with bright and interactive displays, Ipswich Museum is sadly lagging behind. Tired 'natural history ' exhibits lead the way.
