worth a visit

A nice area to visit especially when the weather is nice. A few nice cafes and bars to relax in. Would visit again

Absolutely beautiful of an evening we don’t live far from Ipswich but had never been, would definitely be back

Not worth the time
Nov 2021
Nothing here to really see but a few over priced cafes and restaurants. Parking is also very difficult. Don't waste your time.

Nice
Nov 2021
This is worth a look but not really much to see. Somewhat underwhelming. Much better water fronts to see in other towns and cities.

Pretty by day and night

A pretty Harbour, we’ll serviced for parking, pubs and eateries, a good vibe even mid week in the winter - beautiful for a stroll on a crisp winter morning - definitely worth a visit

Great place to relax
Oct 2021
Enjoyed a lovely afternoon having some food and drink and a walk around Ipswich Waterfront, some really noce boats moored up and easy to get to from Needham market.

Nice place to eat
Oct 2021
A great range of restaurants and as a venue of art installations. Close to the university so lots of students about.

A stunning Waterfront
Sep 2021
Ipswich has over 600 Listed buildings and is well worth a visit, particularly beautiful Christchurch Park with its Arboretum and medieval Mansion.
The former Wet Dock has been transformed into a stunning marina and Waterfront. There are 3 boat trips on the beautiful River Orwell estuary but it's great for strolling around from Stoke Bridge towards the Lockgates or onto the Island site. There are numerous, nearly all independent, restaurants and cafes with plenty of outside seating.
A 4* hotel, Dance East and the University of Suffolk also occupy key locations on the Waterfront.
Not too far from the Regent and Wolsey theatres if you are seeing a show or the ITFC football ground.

Avoid The Anchor (rude, slow staff) but nice ambience by the water
Oct 2021
We added a W and re-christened The Anchor to celebrate the rudest, laziest waitress we've ever encountered (we left, cancelling lunch). A pity as the food looked great and we'd walked a long way to get there. The waterfront is lovely, there are other places to eat like (hate to say it) Pizza Express which are delightul.

Ipswich waterfront is a bit underwhelming, seems like a real lack of interest in making it special, maybe because the university occupies some it, could do better, a few places to eat and drink but could be so much more.
