Now a privately owned pub which was reopened in March 2012 after being refurbished from January 2012. The pub has a selection of up to 16 Real Ales, (8 on hand pull and 8 on gravity) 6 to 8+ Real Ciders on at one time (more in summer) & many Lagers, Wines & Spirits. We pride ourselves in running a friendly and welcoming pub that accepts well behaved children and dogs. We have an outdoor seating area and plenty of seating inside.

THERE IS NOW; Seating at the back in a new covered/heated smoking shelter. It incorporates a BBQ area and a large WOOD FIRED Pizza oven. The NEW BUILD includes a new kitchen which serves home cooked meals 7 days a week from noon till 9pm. Band days food orders finish earlier, check with pub for details.

Friday & Saturday evenings we have live bands ranging in genre from Ska/Reggae, Rock covers and originals bands. We have a fortnightly Sunday Folk Session which we invite players and fans alike to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming you soon. See Face Book 'Mulberry Tree - Free House' or Grapevine for details

If you want some live music on Saturday nights then i would recommend you give this place a look. Rural Outcasts were playing and did a good gig with a play list which was right up my street. A good selection of beers and fast service. The owners try hard to entertain the Ipswich public and deserve a few more... More

Thanks ladies. Sorry food was not on. Staffing issues means we don't have cover lately and I'd rather hold back than put out an inferior service. Glad you understood. 4 stars? Surely a 5 for all the effort, service and cheeky banter ;-) hope to see you again next time. More

I have been to the pub many times and I am about to move to the area. I was about to go on a house viewing and needed the toilet, I called in the pub and got stopped bar two bar men. I explained politely I needed the loo as I was expecting and they said I needed to go... More

Dear Lyndsay. Thank you for your review of us as a toilet after your brief visit. We are in fact a public house and since you know this (as you've visited us before) why not bother to rate us at that point? A review of us as a business? Increasingly this site is being used by people bearing grudges, just... More

Dear Stephen Thank you for your 'review' - it has to be be said I am always disappointed when we get a poor review which I'm pleased to say is not very often. All businesses will from time to time get them. We can't be all things to all men and there we may have an impasse as you may... More

Always a friendly welcome. This pub does three things - live music in the evenings (otherwise it's quiet), a choice of 8 real ales, and about half-a-dozen real ciders. They will offer you a taste if you're not sure which one to try. They do so-so food, but there's plenty of good restaurants nearby. More peaceful than the reputed Dove... More

Dear Rachel We at the Mulberry Tree are most happy to cater to our appreciative customers. The Pizza Oven is a newish venture and its still work in progress. Our recipes are our own and I think the cost is very reasonable for our hand crafted, wood-fired stone baked efforts, which it has to be said have gone down very... More

Went with my wife and two children before the theatre on a Monday evening after realising for the 50th time that the Chinese don't don't do Monday's. Our dinner turned up after a pre-warned 45 minutes. Food was ok if you're used to shopping at Iceland. If the pies were home-made than take me to the home of pukka. Side... More

I struggled to find somewhere I wanted to go into in Ipswich (should have looked at Tripadvisor!) The Mulberry Tree was a pleasant surprise. Good food served by friendly staff and value for money. I would go again if I'm in the area.
