Worth every penny, beautiful house with stunning gardens. Garden of surprise's and sculpture gardens is not to be missed. Wealth of history with the painted ceilings and walls, also lovely historic artifacts. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and very helpful. Opened 18th March, need to go on a nice day to see the gardens as not fun in the wet. The... More

A stunning house to visit. Midweek in March was s good time to go, we felt at times that we had the place to ourselves, it took us about an hour and a half to do the tour. As for the Garden of Surprises, on a wet Monday in March the biggest surprise would have been to see anyone else... More

Although quite expensive to visit, it is actually well worth the money. Extensive grounds and a huge building to explore, will require a full day to absorb it all.

We called in for a cup of tea and cake in the Orangery. I had the coffee and walnut and my partner had carrot cake, both of which were disappointingly dry for the price we paid.

The queue for payment at the Orangerie restaurant can be excruciatingly long at peak periods so allow plenty of time if you want a drink or meal. The grounds are beautiful, especially in the summer and the house has a fascinating history going back to Elizabethan times.

This house is amazing. Also recommend having a walk around the external grounds - dogs need to be kept on leads as deer roam the area most of the year. The Burghley horse trials held every year in September is worth booking - whilst the Horses are beautiful but there is many traders, for the shopaholics out there.

Beautiful room, fascinating tapestries and decoration, and wonderful grounds to explore. We come here most weekends to walk our dog around the grounds whilst we admire the view of the house. But inside of the house meets every expectation. It's absolutely breathtaking. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

A great spot on a Sunday morning to stretch your legs with kiddies. Plenty of people about walking, scooting and cycling

we took our teenage daughters for a look around. They were not really very interested in the interior, they are at that in between age when they are too old to beb wowed and too young to appreciate it. We enjoyed the look around though, and it has some lovely rooms. The exterior is lovely, perfect for visiting on a... More
