Interesting displays on the past especially Roman history and in particular Hadrian's wall. Just across the road from Carlisle Castle - very handy. Plenty of parking available on Castle side of road. Well worth a viewing. On the Carlisle ring road - easy to access.

There are lots of different parts to this museum. The social history part was very interesting, they also have parts on Hadrians wall, The Border Reivers and stuffed animals from yester- year!

Really good and worth seeing but what made it extra special was the lady assistant who took loads of time to assist visitors and talk through the exhibits.

Great place for a history lesson. All of the exhibits are interactive and really get you into learning the history of the area while playing games, drawing, and having fun. Don't miss the outdoor overlook for a full view of Carlisle Castle.
