Great exercise. Walk around the Tarn with kids and dogs. Brilliant and clean. End the trip with a cup of tea and an icecream. Buy food to feed the ducks.

Great place for an easy walk. Suitable for all abilities. Shame the cafe isn’t good. Always a long queue and rubbish service

We visited talkin tarn today for an winter walk. There’s a great park for children. We stopped for a coffee and then walked around the lake. Great peaceful afternoon out. Highly recommended.

There is a shore in places, but there are a lot of wild birds on the tarn so I’d suggest taking the kids to the special hide on the far side to get close to the birds. There’s a cafe too. Have a lovely day out!

Owners do let dogs off lead but if your dog likes to explore there is lots of space and s/he would be able to wander off if s/he had a mind to.
