Firstly, and most importantly, this wall is in no way comparable to the Great Wall of China, despite many misleading recommendations. I could easily see over it; I would say the wall is less than half the height of me, and I’m above average in...More

It is a must-visit if in the area. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but the whole trip was worth the detour. Take a walk through the different areas of the establishment! For around £9pp you can enter the whole exhibition, and the parking will be...More

The start of this largest historic Roman build Visited Birdoswald where the largest serving section of the wall is shown. How impressive a place plus great staff in the shops we came we saw we had a coffee too well worth a visit

It’s a UNESCO heritage site, a Roman fort preserved thro’ the ages. Please take time to watch the short film at the museum before going to the site, quite informative on what to expect.

I think you should only visit this place during summer time. Because on winter you can’t just walk for miles to see a wall. I joined one day tour from Hearts of Scotland, and honestly... they oversell it. It is not worth it even all...More

Have wanted to visit Hadrians Wall for years. We visited on a very cloudy damp January. We thought that the entrance charge of £7.80 was slightly high especially with additional car parking charge of £3 for the first 3 hours and £2 an hour thereafter....More

It’s pretty much what it said a wall! I felt it would be better if it followed the A69 and make it easier for access ... disappointed that various crags and hills obscured the view. Over all more planning would have improved this experience.

Hi Andy It’s better to walk the Wall from west to east (so the prevailing westerly winds are behind you). Carlisle Tourist Information Centre can give you the names of local companies who can help with reservations and... More

That all depends where you want to go. There are admission fees into Birdoswald, Carvoran, Housesteads, Vindolanda and Chesters, and fees payable at several of the car parks. No charge for parking at Banks Turret... More
