Only a quick visit with young children but an interesting museum with lots to look at. Children could choose teddy bears to carry around with them and there was an 'I spy' game for them to play. Right opposite the castle and free to enter so worth popping in even if you only have ten minutes.

This is an interesting little museum. We enjoyed the displays, the little school and hospital room, the gallery and the dressing up. We just felt there could have been a few things that could have been better. The kids dressing up clothes were a fab addition but they did actually smell! Isn't there someone who works there that could pop... More

A good and interesting museum, with free admission, but content is limited to three main subjects, Nelson, Henry Rolls and recording, very good for what it was.

I always enjoy coming to this museum as it is interesting and has a lot to look at for a small museum. The building used to be the chepstow cottage hospital until the hospital was moved to a larger site in the town.

Called in to see this museum while on a winter break in Forest of Dean. Really enjoyed it. Had visited the Monmouth Museum the previous day and that was good too with its special rock and pop exhibition. I cannot speak too highly of the museum service in Monmouthshire, for a relatively small county they do a great job.

We'd just been to the castle opposite when we noticed the museum was open - and free - so extended our time in Chepstow for an extra hour, and we're glad we did. Not the biggest museum you'll ever visit but there's a lot crammed in. On our visit the museum was staffed by two lovely ladies who couldn't have... More

Popped in here as it was free, but with low expectations. Was pleasantly surprised that this is a very interesting museum, on two floors, and with a huge variety of exhibits and information - something for everyone. The guy on the door was friendly and a huge amount of care and effort had clearly gone into getting it all together... More
