Reasonable entry charges. Set beside the river on the edge of Chepstow. Parking nearby at reasonable charge. Information boards around the buildings and castle walls.

I live in cheshow so have a free visitors card. However Chepstow castle and the town are well worth a day out. Good parking and the town has a castle walk. Pick up a guide and follow the symbols in the street and on buildings. Lots to do and see. Castle found a are accessible by all but elderly people... More

Good place to visit, beautiful view with its own histories. Shame because they don't have a cafe in that area. Make sure to bring your own potlucks otherwise you need to walk 10 to 15 minutes to get to the shops or cafe.

Worth a visit to see the oldest wooden doors in Europe? Well kept castle with great views in this lovely border town, friendly helpful staff. Convenient car parking.

A very impressive structure. We spent two hours walking around this piece of history. It is incredible to see and touch a building that was erected in the eleventh century. Much has been written on the evolution and history of this the oldest existing stone castle so it is not for me to elaborate further. The views of and from... More

Certainly worth a visit if you are in the area. As well as being an impressive structure it's in great position and the sourrounding countryside and river side of Chepstow are lovely.

Chepstow Castle is what I would describe as a proper castle with towers to climb, hidden rooms to explore and where your children's imagination can run wild. It's a large castle that seems to just keep on going! It's been well preserved with sympathetic repairs made to ensure access to more parts of the castle is available. The staff are... More

I had never been here before so we called. The £6 entry fee was fine as when we were there they were repairing a roof, so that's what your money goes towards. It's a very varied Castle, with it all built at different times. The only down side, we went when there were three buses full of children.
