A good way to prowl a proper Welsh castle. Easy access and parking. Inexpensive. A tour would have been more informative but the information placards were great.

It's ok for a castle . Being Welsh I've been to plenty lol . Wear comfy shoes as there's plenty of walking to do . Steps can be slippery

An exceptionally old and well preserved castle full of features. Many of the details echo its former glory and significance. Plenty to see, explore, admire and ponder. It lost a star as the staff seemed disinterested.

Chepstow Castle…a castle and it's in Chepstow. Stands at the start of the Wye Valley. Plenty of parking. Great pubs nearby.

Having spent a few days in Wales we were starting to be "over" Castles. This one is very worthwhile. There are areas that have been restored and their are sections that appear to be ruins. Either way a great spot for photos of the castle...More

I've been to this castle three times now. It's a lovely location right by the river and great for photos. Walk on the walls and taking photos of the river and old bridge was fun. Parking is right outside as are the toilets.
