This is a fantastic house and slightly different to normal National Trust Houses as it is set up as it was in World War 2 when it was used by a Commercial Bank. The storey of the house, the family & the Bank staff makes a really enjoyable and interesting visit. The grounds are also great for looking around with... More

I visited to see the war theme and it was a fascinating experience. Unlike most visits to historic houses or museums there were a lot of exhibits that you could touch. Old gas masks, newspapers, magazines, clothes and so on. In addition to the wartime theme the house also houses a lot of very impressive paintings including works by Turner,... More

Lots of hands things to do for children, nice grounds to walk around when the weather is warmer. However there are a few stairs making it difficult for disabled people.

Went with my parents which were visiting from Sweden. We are all fascinated by English history. This was an amazing house. The rooms have been kept as they once were and there was amazing tour guides telling the story about the people that once lived there. Very interesting and highly recommended.

Visited here today. We were very impressed with the excellent service provided by the volunteers. They were engaging and very knowledgeable, which really added to our enjoyment. The art collection and the exhibition was wonderful. We learnt so much and would definitely recommend this attraction.

I've had about 6 fun family afternoons out here. The cafe is good and its a nice walk. Sometimes there is live music etc. I guess it's best in the summer.
