It could be a disappointing visit if you don’t realise that there are only the hall and two rooms open on the ground floor and one upstairs as the family still live there and it is only open Wednesday and Saturday from 2 pm. We had just visited Upton House so it only meant driving a few miles to get... More

Not many rooms open to view in the house as the family still live there, but the views from the grounds are fantastic. Interesting follies and statutes.

Farnborough Hall was a total let down for us, not much to see at all, 3 rooms and a staircase. Come to Banbury for Upton House which is excellent, but do not travel a great distance for Farnborough.

I visited Farnborough Hall after having visited Upton House as it was one of the very few times that it was open. The walk up to the obelisk is well worth it taking in the stunning views on the way but be careful if the grass has been cut recently as the cut grass is left behind. As the day... More

Came here on the way home from another property. If you aren't an NT member you should know it costs £6.50 each and you only get to go in three rooms and there property is only open occasionally. The grounds are quite pleasant to walk around but don't take long. As NT members we enjoyed our visit but won't be... More

Beautiful grounds & setting & interesting house which is still lived in. Pleasant & helpful staff. The only downside is that is so infrequently open: would the National Trust offer owners such a deal these days?

A lovely stately home with a small selection of rooms open for viewing and a small coffee shop. However the garden offers spectacular views and Walks. A lovely lake with birds to look at nearby too! A real treat overall in regards to the garden and a fantastic spot for a picnic. Just check on the national trust app for... More

An enchanting house with sweeping lawns and lovely gardens. It isn't open very often, and even then there are only a few rooms on view. I do sometimes wonder how much the upkeep of such places costs the National Trust and whether some arrangements it has aren't just a way for families to continue living in beautiful surroundings at the... Interesting interiors, very homely. Good walk along terraces with lovely views, but be sure to wear stout footwear.

I'm a huge National Trust fan and although we enjoyed a nice stroll around the grounds, Farnborough Hall is no match for other National Trust properties. The property is only open at certain times and then only a very small part of it. The items on display are accompanied by hand scrawled notes, I presume by an older/past member of... More
