Interesting and unusual plants

For a modest entrance fee, the gardens offer a wide range of plants and settings, variable with the seasons. Nice little teashop

Found Barnsdale by accident but so glad we did. The gardens were fascinating even though it was winter and very cold on the day we visited. The coffee and cake in the tea room is also to be recommended

Although of interest to many others, this really is a garden for gardeners and all the better for it. It has been kept in the style that Geoff H would have wanted and as well as offering a huge amount of interest has an excellent cafe.

Set aside a good few hours. Not expensive. Simple tea rooms - don't order the Big Barnsdale breakfast unless you have not eaten... More

For anyone interested in gardening, this is a must attraction for those who have never been before. 8 Acres of 'garden rooms' of all types, with easy walking from one 'room' to another. Any time of year will be of interest as there is something in full bloom throughout the year. The trees offer wonderful changes of colour with many... More

Obviously not at their best at this time of year but got a superb photo of comma butterfly. Be sure & get a map of the gardens on entry.
