Explore the sights and sounds of Africa and discover lions, giraffes, rhinos, meerkats, hunting dogs and many more animals from the African continent. The spectacular centrepiece of Africa Alive!, our "Plains of Africa" paddock, is the perfect place to spot 5 species of African savannah animals, including our graceful giraffe and heavyweight rhinos. Enjoy a bird's eye view of our magnificent lions from "Lookout Lodge", and visit "Lemur Encounters", which gives you the chance to get incredibly close to our ring-tailed lemurs as you walk through their enclosure! Bird lovers can also enjoy spotting native species from our new "Wader's Lake Boardwalk". Discover some amazing facts about our animals during our exciting feeding talks and seasonal Bird of Prey displays. Climb aboard the free Safari Roadtrain for an entertaining journey around the Park. Look, learn and play in our fun-packed Discovery Centre and meet some of our smaller residents at the animal encounter sessions. The park offers a great outdoor adventure play area, as well as restaurants, free car parking, disabled facilities and a gift shop where you can find souvenirs and gifts for everyone - including yourself! Open daily at 9.30am all year, except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. For admission prices and closing times please check our website

Have been here three times now and each time am impressed by the animals and the people who look after them. There is plenty to do throughout the day, and my children (8 and 6) sufficiently happy even on their third visit. Each time we have managed to see something different. This week as its cold a lot of the... More

My family visited Africa Alive for the first time during the February Half Term. We used some special offers - the children visited for free, making our visit more affordable at just under £30 for my husband and I. The highlights of our visit has to be the Lions and the Giraffes, and the feeding time talk at the Giraffe... More

Took my 2 grandchildren yesterday. The animals were enjoyed but greatest pleasure was the indoor soft play area for the 2 and 5 year old I took. There was also an outdoor play area/trim trail, land train and food outlets. All in all reasonable cost for the day.

We had a mixture of ages, children and adults, and a mixture of annual passes, paying adult and free kids pass. Short queue to gain entry, and again for the road train. Goat feed is now 50p a handful, via a coin machine in the enclosure, will be taking a cup to collect the food in next time as there... More

Went today 16th Feb. We had a nice time. Lots of animals to see. The meerkats and otter feeds were nice. The lion enclosure is impressive. The giraffes were beautiful and clearly well cared for. The park is obviously doing well. As they are building a large 'savannah' with improved viewing. It looks like it will be fantastic when finished... More

Thank you for posting your review. Thank you also for sharing your kind comments. We share your frustration regarding access for wheelchair users on our road train. Its not as simple as putting a ramp on the back and removing a couple of seats as this wouldn't comply with safety requirements. If it was, trust me, we would have done... More

We went here on a drizzly Saturday morning as we had kids go free. It was great as no one else was there. Spent a couple of hours looking round, watch some feeding times. No crowds got close to the animals and had a good chat with the keepers. Great time to visit, good value with kids go free

Visited in Feb half term and took advantage of the free kids entry offer they had on their website. It was a cold but sunny day. Plenty to see and do and we spent around 4.5 hrs in the park which included a couple of animal feeding times. The free zebra train had quite long queues so I would recommend... More

As a family we each have year long passes. This has proved to be a great purchase. We are regular visitors to the park and more than covered the cost of the passes in the first three months. We take our grandchildren there and they love it. They are under three so they enter free. We have seen most of... More
