As the most easterly point of the UK, you would expect something a bit better than a dirty large plaque on the floor. I'm a resident of Lowestoft and can't imagine what tourists think of this poor attempt at a landmark. Sort yourself out Lowestoft.

This is an interesting place that could be a great attraction. Apart from the diagram on the ground there is nothing. Lots of rubbish strewn around and lorries parked up. There was no atmosphere or facilities. Lowestoft is a great place and they could make...More

Called to see this "landmark" on Sunday 1st October. It's was windy and the sea quite lively. This site is reached through an industrial area so not the best approach. I can't understand why more is not made of it. The distances to other places...More

The furthest point East, is here. There are plenty of markers, to show you the way you are looking. Famous point of the ness.

Came to complete a challenge to visit the four compass points of mainland Britain. This is the least picturesque...fine if you are in the area but not quite worth going out of your way for.

I live in Lowestoft and we went to Ness point, thinking that our council would have made something special to celebrate our status of being Britains most easterly point. Unfortunately tucked away behind derelict factories which show the total devastation of our fishing industry, you will...More

Sorry to say we don't make much of the most easterly point of the British Isles. At least you can say you've been there but don't go expecting anything special. There is a pleasant seafront walk or cycle you can do along front on concrete...More

After a long walk from Sparrows Nest Park we arrived at Ness Point and was very disappointed that there is not even a sign we could stand in front of to say we were at the most easterly point in England. I feel more should...More
