A wonderful piece of history to take a long slow walk around and soak in the atmosphere. It is well worth taking the time to have a really good look around There are plenty of food places nearby and within the place itself. Not too good for wheelchairs as the occupant gets thrown around on the cobbles.

I would like to keep you updated on progress at the Piece Hall in case anyone was thinking of visiting Halifax over the Christmas period. We were all expecting a fantastic time in this lovely building, with all the usual special events, market stalls, and even possibly a return of the ice-rink we have had in years past. Come to... Nice piece of history. Some good niche shops but the place needs a facelift to be honest. With a bit of investment this would be an amazing place. Come on Calderdale Council!

This was a real disappointment as this lovely area is closed at the moment, I have visited this before around 3 years ago & was really looking forward to another visit. Its soon to be opened again but alas to late for me.

Although the Piece Hall is going under a major renovation, just seeing the building makes me remember my dad, he worked at the Piece Hall for 25 years, even meeting the Queen when she visited, unfortunately he passed away before they started the renovations, but I think he would have looked forward to seeing what they achieve I worked for... Grade I listed building with a fascinating history, the only one of its kind in the UK. Everyone in Halifax is waiting to see the end result, but we know it will be spectacular. Several up-market bars and cafes have taken space, which will mean a very welcome addition to the town's leisure facilities. Make sure it's open before you... More
