My trip could have been at least a year longer to be able to fully appreciate these woods. They are beautiful and majestic is all seasons.

Very disappointed at the start of this walk due to the amount of dog mess! Typical other dog owners spoiling it for us who pick up. The walk itself is ok with lots of options. Dogs had a blast on the trails (this was outside nesting times).

Enjoyed a beautiful autumn walk today with the sun splintering through the trees. Very beautiful and atmospheric. Clearly marked, well maintained routes with seats at viewpoints.

There are so many walks and you can have a guided walk from the Grant Arms Hotel. The paths are very good and the woodlands are lovely to walk through. Excellent place for walking your dog.

As mentioned in the information and noted by other reviewers, these woods date back to the ancient Caledonian forest. Trails are coded and offer different lengths/durations. We walked right down to the river Spey. Very enjoyable experience with out 2 dogs, safely on leashes and bagging up any waste! Plenty of parking, but most walk from Grantown on spey centre.... More

Very nice easy walks long and short try the ones taking in the river spey. It is well waymarked if you have a map with varied views to choose from.

There are some lovely routes through these woods. I took the longer red route and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. We didn't see any wildlife but I did bump into some lovely people along my walk who gave some great advice. A very special pace. Would recommend a lovely walk here just to blow the cobwebs away.

We visit these ancient woods on every visit to Grantown and they are a very special place where sightings of red squirrel and a wide range of bird species could be expected. Unfortunately the tranquility of the woods is increasingly being destroyed by uncontrolled dogs running free and disturbing the wildlife. Sadly this is a national problem not confined just... More

These are genuine woods, not a forestry plantation with landrover tracks ploughed through it. There are broad, well-maintained and well-signposted paths, for both walking and cycling - wheelchair paths as well - and narrow tracks deep into the undergrowth if that's what you prefer. Like any coniferous woodland, wildlife sighting can't be guaranteed but there's a fair chance of seeing... More
