National trust property. Beautiful grounds and buildings. Lovely gardens to walk around and for children to enjoy playing in. Cafe avalible but also lovely to have a picnic in the grounds. On occasions there are events which need to be booked separately .

Visited with my daughter and granddaughters. A good National trust property with lots to keep everyone interested and entertained. Loads of walks, play areas, spaces to explore and more. Plenty to keep everyone occupied for the whole day.

You can get the 45/46 or 47 from Newcastle, Consett, or Metrocentre to Rowlands Gill, and there are signs and directions to Gibside from there, or use the map too.

Dogs welcome in grounds on leads; assistance dogs only allowed inside chapel and cafe's. Dogs are allowed in the library at the stables, which can be used to eat your cream scone and tea if it's rainy!
