We have travelled past the angel on many occasions but never stopped for a proper look so this time we made the extra effort to park up and take a walk. I recommend you spend an hour doing so. There is a good car park...More

It is amazing to see the Angel of the North, especially standing at it's feet and looking up to see just how huge it is. However, it would really benefit from a Visitors Centre, cafe and gift shop. There is simply an ice-cream van if...More

So easy to drive past while travelling on the A1 so why not take a five minute detour and stop. There is a small carpark which is free of charge and you could probably spend 30 minutes also walking around looking at the amazing sculpture...More

It was on my bucket list so had to do this, but whilst I'm glad I've been, it wasn't as great as my expectations.

The angel of the North is an amazing structure designed by Antony Gormley. It dominates the area and can be seen from the A1. Park the car and walk right up to the structure. It is spectacular.

we were here a week or so after the Manchester bombing. This place has almost become a shrine for comiseration of anything bad that happens in the world. Probably the only highlight for Newcastle.

As in area I had to stop by, it only take 10 mins I would say, look around and ponder it I would say, took pictures moved on. Traveling south on A1 you can see it more from distance than you can travelling up north....More

Hi, the Angel is on the A167 Durham Road just before it joins the A1. There are loads of buses that use this road as a southern route out of the Newcastle/Gateshead conurbation. I don't use that many buses so can't... More

The sculpture is designed to capture our imaginations so it's not identifiable as male or female, you see the form as you want to see it whether that's male or female. Either way the angel is stunning and you will enjoy a... More
