What a lovely little aquarium. We had the best time with the hermet crab, starfish and grumpy the fish. The assistant was very knowledgeable and let us hold/touch the sea creatures in the touch pool. Would visit again.

It's an aquarium about the size of someone's living room that looks like it was last updated in the 70's. So, if you are looking for a mini version of a sea life centre then you'll be disappointed. However if you want to be able to find out about the local sealife from people who understand and care about it... More

My six year old has been dying to visit Fowey Aquarium for several weeks now, so today we visited. If your kids would rather play on their computer games, you have no interest in their education or you think this is going to be the London Aquarium (rammed with tourists and hardly anything that reflects where you are in the... We sat at lunch in Polruan and overheard some toff idiot describe The Fowey Aquarium as 'like the fish counter at Tesco' and 'better to wait and go to the London Aquarium'. All I can say is that person is misguided. Our little girl had an amazing time seeing lots of interesting fish and crustaceans alike. It's amazing to think... More

Loved your review. Try a book called "Bo..ox to Alton Towers" written by a couple of Viz contributors. In it they recount the wonders of many of the UK's finest but most bonkers tourist attractions. Don't worry about the people you overheard - they are better off spending £80 and going to the London Aquarium! It is absolutely nothing to... More

This is a tiny aquarium, however the children found it interesting as it was hands on fun, the staff where helpful and knowledgeable. You only need 20 to 30 minutes.

A real step back to a Victorian style mini aquarium, very much in keeping with historic Fowey. Has real educational value for children and the proprietor will almost certainly be on hand to explain things. You won't be disappointed!

This is the quaintest, quirkiest aquarium you will find anywhere. Under the town hall, just of the Quay all the fish and crustations are supplied by local fishermen. Therefore the fish are wholly representative of fish ground in local waters. There us a feeling tank for young and old to enjoy. Our group age 5 to 66 all loved this... More

Visited with my 2 kids and spent a good hour looking at all the exhibitions, loads of fish and big star fish and a massive eel and other animals. Kids loved the pool where they could pick up stuff including hermit crabs. Very knowledgeable and friendly owner. Overall loved it and will return next year.
