The Woad Centre is a farming diversification where plant pigments are grown and processed; specialising in woad indigo. A FREE exhibition on woad production and textile shop are open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10am to 4pm, from Spring to Christmas.Ian and Bernadette Howard have been working with woad for seven years and dye a range of throws, cushions, towels, jumpers, jackets and accessories, as well as offering woad-based toiletries for sale at The Woad Centre shop.

Have seen the signs for this centre and one Saturday called in. Got strange looks from people there as it seems you must book to go there. Why advertise the place if you can't get to see what is there? Have not been back since due to unwelcome staff there

I came here with a large group 24 of us guys on a day out in the area,having had great meal(see previous review).we were met by the owner and his wife,in a large room where we sat and given a talk on how the woad was grown and the history to.very interesting stuff and made even better by the enthusisum... More
