Perrygrove Railway runs for 3/4 mile through farmland and woods on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Ride the steam train to all our activities including the unique Treetop Adventure - 5 houses up in the trees, fully accessible and safe - our covered picnic and play area at Foxy Hollow, an Indoor Village with secret passages, and a den-building area in the woods. See our collection of vintage trains (operating on two special days each year). Unlock a casket of treasure! Fun guaranteed. Picnics welcome - or enjoy our cafe serving sandwiches and light refreshments. Lots of special events, including days when Mr. Chuffity is here to show children how the Friendly Engines work and tell stories. Low cost family tickets - nothing else to pay (except the optional Treasure Hunt).

Although the Grandchildren enjoyed the train ride and the two climbing 'attractions', overall it's very poor value for money. Won't be going back. Program say's to allow a minimum of two hours, that's pushing it! Much better is the Dean Forest Railway and Puzzlewood.

When we looked on the website the place looked quite big with lots to do, also it stated it had special event the day we were visiting and closed at 4.30. We arrived at 2pm, payed £7 each entrance and went into the cafe for a hot chocolate as we were told train would be 25 mins. When it finally... More

Visited February Half term with grandchildren.. Perrygrove is open every weekend and all week in school holidays. NB It is worth phoning up to find the actual dates of the holidays as they differ in different parts of the country. Staff on the phone were very helpful and in person were all friendly, cheerful and kind to the children. The... More

This is a great place for kids and I'm a 64 year old kid who adores Miniature Railways! The Perrygrove Railway is set in glorious Gloucestershire countryside and woodland. It's on a fairly compact site but it's ingeniously engineered and the 20 minute round trip packs a fair punch. The steam loco has to work really hard to get up... More

We had a lovely day out here, as a group of nearly 30 Reception aged children plus adults. The staff were helpful and booking was simple and great value for a class trip. The children loved the steam train and treetop adventure...would definitely recommend, thank you x

Despite living locally this is the first time we have visited. I have a 3 year old girl and a 21 month old boy who are admittedly train mad. We had a great day. We took part in the treasure hunt. Which was a 5 part questionnaire with different things you had to spot on the train ride. Once collected... More

Clean, nicely kept place with a woodland to explore, treetop playhouse to enjoy and comfortable steam or diesel train to ride in and watch the scenery on the narrow gauge tracks. We arrived at 2:30pm on a cloudy February afternoon so only managed one train ride (the last one of the day) but if you get there earlier, you can... More

As adults I must admit I looked down my nose a little at this. The train ride was quite short, the little houses seemed a bit boring...But boy were we wrong. The children 7&2 thoroughly enjoyed. They loved the train and the fact you could go on more than once and we could have left them in the little houses... More

We come to Gloucester every Christmas to spend time with our children and grandchildren and one of the highlights is taking the younger ones to see Santa. Booked this on line and had a bit of trouble when I back tracked to change the age of our granddaughter then got stuck so I phoned up and a very nice young... More
