Fantastic and incredible beach

Although we never went to the beach watching it from Moonfleet was quite amazing in itself. It is home to a number of fishermen and an amazing 20 mile long beach

`They` being the forces of Nature."It`s just a sand spit" your unimaginative friends might comment. How wrong they are..Chesil Beach is one of the UK`s last natural wonders, and a haven for sea-life.And if you want to `get away from it all` it has to be one of the most laid-back and tranquil settings you could find.Don`t,however come to it for... Park here, or at the top of Portland heights for a most spectacular view across our beautiful chesil coastline. Stunning at any time of the year

Parked in the large P&D car park next to the café/shop/education centre. Very scenic. Walking on the large pebbles can be a little hard going with the wind pounding at you, but very exhilarating and good exercise!

Chesil Beach is not just another normal beach. A wonder of natural formation, a long strip of shingle at one end and sand at the other, that is a thing to behold. On a bright sunny day, there is nothing more wonderful than sitting on the shingles (on the end most people visit) and looking out at the wonder of... More

Chesil beach is a beautiful place with a beautiful view and coastline with the harbour water sports behind it but I must say from my point of view, it is far more breathtaking coming down the hill from Portland, from where it looks positively Mediterranean and is advisable to be seen from, on closer inspection, the pepoles are hard to... It's made of stones! Like 5cm diameter stones! Can barely walk on it. Can't sit on it. Can't swim. Only the British would find this beach charming.
