More
This 19th century fort includes a museum highlighting Weymouh's role in Britain's naval history. Built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour, Nothe Fort is one of the best preserved forts of its kind. The advances in technology that affected the fort are explained through many displays, exhibits and audio visual facilities located on the ramparts, gun decks and maze of underground passageways. Enjoy the stunning and far reaching views of the Jurassic Coast from the picnic areas on the Ramparts. These will provide one of the best vantage points on the south coast.

Lots of exhibits and information indoors as well as outdoors with views all around. Enjoyed counting the little mice hidden in every room-great for all ages. It was so good we had to go back to the car park (very close) to pay for longer!

Finally got to visit this fort after almost 4 decades of living in Dorset and so pleased we did. Warm welcome, fascinating displays (especially the matchstick models) and great food in the café. And you can take the dog!

A beautiful place to walk around on a lovely day. Lovely views and a small playground. It was nice to get away from the crowded beaches as we were practically the only ones here.
