I love traditional pubs and beer... and this place ticks both boxes. Can't fault the location either, it's easy walking distance from the lake (and the shops / restaurants). The food my wife and I had was alright as well... But there's something niggling that's...More

Called in whilst wandering around. Had a couple of nice pints of Cumbria Ale then had the munchies so had a beef Madras which was tasty and good value. Staff were really nice which is unusual in a tourist location. Highly recommended

This is one of the hidden gems of Bowness with a wonderfully antiquated and very countrified atmosphere. The food and service was excellent as usual.

Great British pub grub. Good selection of drinks and one of the best pubs in the Lake District. Really cosy inside due to the age of the building.

Tucked away slightly from the hustle and bustle of the main street, this pub was a relief to find, as it was quiet and cosy with a relaxing atmosphere. A good range of beers and some very good-looking food (we didn't eat there) makes the...More

Yes it is during the day. Plenty of children's meals and drinks. It gets a bit louder in the evenings.
