We visited the pub over the weekend as we saw so many lovely reviews about it. The pub itself is GREAT, a beautiful old building with plenty of character. The drinks were also fine and the prices were agreeable. Unfortunately the visit was let down...More

We’ve been coming here for many years now A typical traditional Lakeland pub. Lovely in the winter sitting by the log fire but equally as good in the summer sitting outside in the beer garden. Love it

It's my all time favourite pub in the UK. I first come here 30+ years ago and still love it. I've been in many, many, pubs and seek out traditional ones - this one is a must.

Wonderful local pub that provides great food and a a great British experience. Loved our meal at Hole in t'Wall and really appreciated the decoration (pots and jugs hanging from the ceiling) and the warming fire. Well worth a visit.

I love traditional pubs and beer... and this place ticks both boxes. Can't fault the location either, it's easy walking distance from the lake (and the shops / restaurants). The food my wife and I had was alright as well... But there's something niggling that's...More

Yes it is during the day. Plenty of children's meals and drinks. It gets a bit louder in the evenings.
