Stumbled across this place and was truly amazed to see the range of coaches on display. If you've ever wondered what a landau or a brougham is (or how to pronounce the names), this is the place to go. There is a helpful booklet which...More

The house, though not large, has some interesting family exhibits. I was particularly interested in the private museum. The volunteer guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The carriage museum could do with an update and the main display needs some AV to give it a bit...More

Had no preconceptions about this place and found it to be really interesting. We started with lunch in the cafe, which we all enjoyed and then visited the house with it's quirky collections, all the while being watched by a nosey peacock peering in at...More

Spent a lovelly overcast day here. Plenty of things to keep the kids happy. Dressing up. Trails to complete. Outdoor trail and mud slide were a favourite. Great birdwatching hide.

Enjoyed a couple of late afternoon hours here with our dog in tow. Dogs can't go in the main house or eatery but can access other areas including the excellent and very interesting carriage museum. Each carriage has an adjacent information board to explain its...More

Interesting reviews of this place and had to comment. The food is NT expensive and depends on your NT venue. We always picnic at NT other than a hot drink. The gardens are not the most amazing you will find at a NT venue. The...More

A switchback road from Barnstaple with amazing hairpin bends results in a panorama of open spaces at Arlington Court and an interesting house of treasures and surprises.

Enjoyed the visit in pouring rain. Friendly staff and great little bonuses like the bat cam. Tea room is not very cozy - rather a breezy hall, but quality and service were nice. Kids enjoyed the trails in the house and carriage museum a lot.

A beautiful location to walk. Both flat and more adventurous routes. Dogs welcome. Close car park and great tea room. House isn't very big bit the grounds and stables and lovely enclosed gardens are a treat

A good place to take young children who do not mind getting dirty and not bound by tarmac. Take the wellies and enjoy.

Not absolutely certain, as we don't have a dog, but I did see some people with dogs on leads around the grounds but not in the house or carriage museum. Hope this helps.
