We stumbled upon this market and were quite surprised at how cheap things were and the great selection of stuff there. Great fish, cheese and meat stalls plus a great toy stall which my son loved. The Turkish lighting was to die for and really...More

We made a visit to this indoor market whilst in Durham. It has a good number and range of stalls, including a well established comparatively large shoe section in one corner. It was worth visiting but we felt that there were better (and also not...More

It's certainly worth a good look here. There is a lot of choice, everything from meat, fruit and vegetables to knitwear and more. Certainly cheaper than many of the shops nearby.

The market is a great place to explore and stock up on quality food whilst supporting the smaller independent shops, the market will continue to thrive if we continue to visit!

Thanks for your wise words, we are all small local independent businesses - support us and the money is then pumped into the local economy.

Historic and in the centre of Durham, well worth a visit. An eclectic mix of stalls and places to eat...you will be spoilt for choice. Can get a bit busy but it just adds to the atmosphere.

I don't know what people don't go into the market....it has history, unusual stalls, is vibrant and welcoming. What's not to like??

This is a great indoor market with very reasonable prices. If you're in Durham be sure to pay it a visit. Allow yourself about an hour to get round at at leisurely pace and try the bakery stall.

Liked wandering around the levels to see what was on offer. I didn't find fantastic buttons that I wanted for a coat though! Bought cheapish drinks, some things we found were quite expensive.
