I have been wanting to do this trip the past few times we have been to Paignton, but always seem to end up going to the Zoo instead (which is amazing!), however this time we decided to forego the Zoo and focus on other things. We caught the Steam train (Hercules) from Paignton, then the boat (Cardiff Castle) from Dartmouth... More

If you choose to do the round robin you can do a river cruise upto totnes then catch the special bus back to Paignton. Some wonderful... More

Had a lovely trip on the steam train from Dartmouth to Paignton. Only down side was that Paignton was like a dreary Blackpool. Therefore unless you're into "Kiss me quick" hats and seaside bingo then i would stay clear. Save money and do a shorter journey.

Had a lovely day. Caught the steam train from Paignton station, straight onto the little ferry to Dartmouth, then straight onto the river cruiser. Nb this doesn't always work out quite so quick, you may have to wait for your connection, but a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Paignton to Dartmouth including ferry. Great trip out with Estuary and sea views. Real feel good factor travelling on a steam train. Station had shop and refreshments both ends. Parking hard to find initialy, multi storey near station good but make sure you have change as it took forever and several phone calls to pay by phone. Lots of options... More

Every year we usually go on the steam train from Paignton to Kingswear, then passenger ferry across to Dartmouth for the day and return. Stunning coastal views and our children love the steam train experience

We went from Paignton to Dartmouth on the steam train then over on the ferry and then up the river on the I hour cruise and back by ferry and train. A great way to spend a day! Not cheap but good value
