Want to imagine how life was in Douglas - the Horse Tranway gives you a really good idea. Although I did not ride on it. I stopped to watch it several times. Typifies the town

I loved this as a child in the 1950's so was delighted to see it was still there, even if now there is only one tram every 20 minutes instead of a steady stream of them. Great for kids of all ages.

Couldn't wait to have a trip on thus horse drawn tram and we were not disappointed , these magnificent horses work so hard and clearly enjoyed what they were doing What wasn't so attractive was the attitude of some car drivers because they were held up for a few seconds behind the horses oh dear who was there first Please... This is a delightful place to visit. So much part of Manx history. The trams are basic but very old and absolutely charming. It is well worth a visit.

A really nice novelty experience - horse drawn tram from outside our hotel all the way along the front / promenade. It goes at a slow pace, just ideal for taking photos as you go. And also, great value when bought as part of a "day ticket", including electric railways.

My wxoerience is rather dated and took place in 1964 when as a 20 year old I spent the summer season working in the Marigold Restaurant in Douglas. A great wee woman, originally from Liverpool and married to a Manxman, taught me all I needed to know to work in the Marigold's kitchen as grill-cook and fish-frier. This was the... More

It was a very nice experience to travel with this tramway and more it is very accessible to take pictures along the shore with beautiful landmark buildings aside.

Good fun for £3. Got on at sea terminal and off at Terminus tavern. Nice leisurely trot along prom good view out to sea. Nice to go back in time.

Whilst in the IOM recently we took a ride on the horse drawn trams, which I have not done since I was a child. They are open to the elements but we were lucky enough to have good weather. The public can also visit the stables to see these wonderful horses and we took a few apples and carrots as... More

Travel back in time while there still here. You never know how long they will be allowed to stay? (hopefully a very long time) If you get a "Day ticket" you travel all over the Island by Horse, Steam & Electric.
