- Wife of a wheelchair user!West Midlands, United Kingdom6 contributionsVery surprising visit to North Beach Tenby - accessible to a certain degreeVisited North beach with my husband in an electric wheelchair. It was easy to get to from the town centre - made easier as well as during the summer months cars aren’t allowed in the town centre. The centre would be quite hard to navigate as well with cars due to limited dropped curbs and wheelchair access on pavements and into shops. A lot of shops have steps and are inaccessible to a wheelchair user. Anyway back to North beach! It was a fairly steep decent down and not one you may want to try with a heavy manual chair. Hubby managed it in his electric chair fairly easily. Once down there are several places to access the beach with slopes to the sand or steps. Hubby didn’t go on the beach as the sand is too soft here. There are toilets - women’s are up a steep flight of stairs and a disabled toilet is next to the cafe. From there we walked along the front towards the town alongside the beach on a flat walk way. This path took us right round to the next beach and where you can book boat trips and back into the town. It was a flat run with an incline at the end but nothing like it would have been pushing back up at North beach!!Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 August 2024
- jasmine cShrewsbury, United Kingdom41 contributionsAmazing beach!such a fabulous family beach! really clean and safe for children to play and paddle in the water! Usually come to south beach as we always stay at Kiln park haven, but we decided to give north beach a try and it was just as good! love tenby!Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 22 August 2024
- paxBasingstoke, United Kingdom3 contributionsGreat, but could be betterwe travelled down as a family and the kids loved playing on the beach. there were soo many cool things like the rockpools and the rock itself, which surprisingly fascinated us. The town in just by it and it has some great shops however we did struggle to find restaurants as everywhere only sold fish and chips. However there is a great diner on the beach area so that was a plus. We stayed in one of the Premier Inn's down there and it was literally a 2 minute walk , if that, to the beach. i would highly recommend this beach to visit and scenery is a great add, but double check the hotels before booking, as we did also struggle for parking.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 August 2024
- JessWales, United Kingdom322 contributionsBeautiful BeachThis beach is amazing. It's easy to understand why it's so popular. It's clean, massive, and provides an amazing view of town behind it. The beach is easily accessible by the steps or ramps. There are some food/drink options on the beach too. There is also a shower to wash after a swim. The Iron Man swim takes place on this beach so at the moment it's busy with people training, but this is lovely to see as the event gets closer.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 August 2024

A beautiful, smallish, beach with golden sand. Goscar Rock in the centre provides a further point of interest and although the diving board is now long gone (health & safety?) it is still an interesting point for children of all ages.
The beach cafe provides the seaside essentials of ice cream and other refreshments.
Get to the beach early to make the most of the sun, as a shadow starts falling on it from mid afternoon.

Despite being just a few months out of total lockdown and with some restrictions still in place, Tenby was the busiest place I visited in Wales except Cardiff! It's really pretty and we walked from the harbour along the promenade past North Beach. The sand is golden and there is a distinctive rock formation to complete the view. Plenty of facilities including sunbeds, boat trips, toilets and a cafe/ice cream shop with a pretty terrace at the far end to enjoy the view.

There are approximately 50 beaches in Tenby, or something like that. This is the best one. I’ve been a ton of times. My best experience was in October when dogs are allowed on that one (they’re not allowed on it during the main holiday season). Tenby is great isn’t it? I should perhaps say it’s rubbish, to prevent it becoming overcrowded when I’m on my regular holiday there in the future.

Tenby North Beach is absolutely beautiful in all weather but when it's a beautiful sunny day is spectacular. The rock cliffs. Goscar rock in the middle of the beach. There's a wonderful cafe that does a really good takeaway. Toilet facilities. You can hire a surf board if you're adventures. There's sun beds for hire also. Life guards on duty during the summer months. Boat trips from the harbour during high tide. The sea is so clear and golden sands. North Beach also has a blue flag. Highly recommend going there.

Beautiful beach. Stunning views and close to the town/shops/attractions. Beach is accessed by steep slopes and even steeper steps in some places, lovely going down!! All immaculately clean and inviting and watched over by lifeguards. Lots choice of boat trips, fishing trips etc so lots to do and see. Lovely mix of shops, bars, restaurants coffee shops etc. We didn't visit at a busy time but imagine does get very busy and seems you must like dogs!! Easy access to walk to South Beach - equally as beautiful and larger - sadly rain stopped play!

Parked at North Beach Pay & Display carpark, £4 for 24 hours. Walked to the beach around 10 reasonably. It was a sandy beach, clear water though you did expect that it would be a lot of visitors during peak season, still acceptable. Public toilet located right in the middle of the beach. Wonderful place for my family to be there for at least 4-5 hours.

Perfect if it was not for cars and dangerous drivers. We visited with small children, pavements in Tenby are too small for a buggy, let alone wheelchair users, people with dogs, pedestrians are forced into the roads, yet drivers drive at very high speed all the way into the beach. Tenby is ruined by selfish drivers. The city centre and beaches should be for pedestrians only.
