The gatehouse entrance to the property is impressive, revealing a spectacular front garden leading up to the large house. There are many routes around the surrounding gardens to explore with numerous varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers to observe. The tour around the many rooms within the house is very interesting and factual. Some of the staff wear period costumes... More

First visit ample gravel parking costing £3 for day if not a trust member, outer grounds and walking routes are free and there all lots of woodland routes to explore. Charge for entry to House & gardens. Plenty of places for a drink or eat. Inside and outside tables available. Very enjoyable day grounds and gardens are stunning. Would certainly... More

We visited on a misty day in May. Not the best weather for a garden walk so it helps to pick a place with something indoors just in case. The gardens are spacious and well designed. Rhododendrons were in full bloom and roses are just beginning. The house is a Downton Abbey sort that appeals to some family members more... More

If you are visiting on Thursday afternoons (2pm) then as something a bit different do try the guided estate walk to see a different side to Lanhydrock and learn more about the history of the house and gardens.

Visiting Lanhydrock house was very informative, we were able to walk through a lot of the rooms and found that it allowed you to envisage how life was years ago. Also the gardens were stunning and well maintained. It has a good play area, cafe and restaurant. Recommend a visit.

The house is very interesting and there are so many rooms open to see. Many of them look as if the family are still living there. The National Trust staff are very pleasant and knowledgable . The gardens are spectacular. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We enjoyed walking around the house but felt it could benefit from better signage for the route to save you missing viewing certain rooms. On the day we visited it was fairly busy which meant there were queues at the doors to rooms that are roped off at the door meaning we didn't get much of a chance to look... More
