Crathes Castle is unique in a couple of ways. One is that it was inhabited continuously and until quite recently by the same family for something like 300 years. Because of this, you can get both a long historic perspective, but also a more contemporary...More

Lovely gardens with an interesting range of plants and environments. The castle itself is very interesting and the staff and guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. Interesting walks in the vicinity also. I'd say it's one of the best castles to visit in Aberdeenshire.
