my partner and I visited. the building features a Romanesque tower and a 13th century hall Wenzelsaal. this has a lot of atmosphere. in the basement is a documentation room about the destruction of Wurzburg on march the 16th 1945.

Some tower climbs are more rewarding than others -- but the climb up to the Tower of the Rathaus (Town Hall) in Rothenburg is worth the effort and the cost of two Euros! You kind of have to hoist yourself up on to the platform at the top with the help of the grab handles there ... so some measure... More

The beautiful Renaissance town hall was built in 1609 in Julius style by Prince-Bishop Julius Echter, architect Peter Meurer from Kitzingen, and is included in the list of monuments of international cultural and historical value. With its three floors, a richly decorated portal (with coat of arms of the Builder) and a stepped gable its size was totally not justified... More
