A pleasant time spent learning of the way the area was geologically formed.
Worth the visit when you are in Bagnoregio.
Very informative and well put together.

This museum was very much a surprise. There was so much info on the geological formation of Civita and how it has changed over the centuries. There is an informative video in several languages that explain the history as well with lots of entree sting pictures. And it was free. A good way to relax and learn about the town.

By chance we found this and we live nearby. An excellent initiative by young professionals who explain the geologically complex area using various communicative tools including interactive multimedia. They can also explain in English which, in some way, is coherent with the Italian experience.

History of the geological site which is very interesting. However, many of the explanations are in Italian only.

Dear Ginger, thank you for visiting our museum, we are happy of your appreciation. We regret you couldn't fully appreciate all the information given because they were mainly in Italian. We are glad to tell you that we have just completed the English translation (we have uploaded the pictures of the new panels on our profile) and that we would be really pleased to send you the English texts. Please write to info@museogeologicoedellefrane.it to receive them. Hope to see you soon back in Civita, we send you our best regards

This is a small museum situated on the second floor of a building in the main Square, it houses some TV displays, pictorial information, a scale model and some fossil remains that seek to explain the geology of the area. It was informative and useful, the guide at the time we visited was very accommodating and spoke english
