Reviewed yesterday NEW

After reading some mixed reviews about the lack of water from the waterfall, the amount of rubbish and the poor access, I can say that the water is falling again into the pool below. Yes there is a little rubbish but really not much. Access is still a little tricky if you have reduced mobility . We were lucky that... More

This is one of the most beautiful, scenic hidden places I have ever been to and I have travelled a lot. Acces is not easy and definately not suitable for someone with limited mobility, but if you are willing to scramble a little then it is soooo worth it! We took a picnic and got a taxi from central Tavira... More

I read about the fire, but still decided to check out Pego do Inferno, because I was nearby. I was worth it - everything was green, water as running and few people swimming. The surroundings require some maintenance - cleaning the vegetation around the route, fixing the bridge, but in general it's amazing place to visit!

It took us a while to find the right way to get there but it was worth the drive and walk. Everything was in bloom and it smelled like a magical place. We didn't go for a swim cause it was too cold, but it was beautiful

Visited endof Feb 2017, parked and walked the uneven track, fought our way through the overgrowth to fine a derelect bridge and all access down to the pool destroyed. Several Spansh families trying to do the same. Lets hope Tavira Council find the money to restore what was a hidden gem. Certaintly not worth the treck to find it.

Very nice place. There was a big fire which destroyed the bridge and the road. Was a big local attraction.

Perfect example of how human activity like diverting water can totally destroy a once beautiful place. Not only there is no water, but there's litter all over, stinking terribly. Can't get what for keeping all the beautiful pics here on TA if that's no longer the case.

This was a beautiful place three years ago, but suddenly the river stopped running! This was always a possibility in the summer but not in March after a lot of rain. The water has been diverted somewhere upstream but the council have done nothing. In the meantime, all the infrastructure is being destroyed by nature and v andals

Went today and the water doesnt flow. Its a bit like a refuse tip with a pool of water as its main feature. Very hard to find. Which actually made it quite fun to go. The other review about directions is perfect depending on what direction you come in from. We happened to come the right way.

We went there yesterday to check this place out, but much to our disappointment it was no longer there. The river and waterfall were all dried up. So don't waste you time like we did! Wish I had of checked trip advisor before going as other travellers had already noted this. We weren't the only ones who had made this... More
