This rescue center has a fair number of animals rescued from people who were keeping them illegally and also some that were injured and no longer able to live in the wild. They have most of the wild cat species that live in Costa Rica...More

Las Pumas is a great rescue center for wild and injured animals as well as those confiscated from illegal owners. You will be amazed at the variety of moneys and parrots especially when they all start talking at once in both English and Spanish. There...More

This was such a wonderful place for these animals. The habitats were amazing; they definitely make a strong effort to imitate their natural environments. The paths & the little paintings all around were cute. There was a woman doing these INCREDIBLE paintings on the building...More

I do not know how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars. If I could give it a higher rating, I would. First - this is volunteer-run, and not owned by a millionaire. They do the absolute best they can, and the stories...More

The animals are those rescued from abusive and neglectful situations. They have great habitats and we loved the opportunity to see them all thriving now. Kudos to this rescue!

We visited this rescue center with a tour. They have a wide variety of cats. The stories of all the animals are printed on their cage. We would've appreciated a little history about the center and the animals from an employee.

We were driving to Arenal and, as we are animal lovers, Carlos of Blue Sky Private Tours knew we'd love this place, and we did! Toucans, capuchin monkeys, jaguars, toucans, ocelots, a pig, a jaguar and a deer who were friends through the fence, jaguarundi,...More

We were looking for something we hadn't done in Costa Rica previously so decided to check out the Las Pumas animal rescue. The center is owned and operated by a family who started it in the 60s. There's a decent variety of animals including large...More

We had read about this rescue and it's founder and wanted to see it. Since we live close by we took a short ride to see what it was like. Please remember this is an animal rescue and not a zoo.
