We were interested to know all about Oman and its natural history. We spent a really informative hour looking around and were amazed at the diversity of animal and insect that could be found in the country.

Small museum but not expensive either. Some interesting exhibits, plenty of written commentary explaining Omani natural history. No more than an hour required.

Must visit if interested in history, culture or civilization. It hosts a variety of artefacts depicting early cultural & traditional history of Oman along with influences from Turkey, Iran, India, etc.

There are many local animals and rock formations on display. The whale room next door is quite nice and there is an original frankincense tree in front of the building.

This museum seems quite new. Several great exhibits with interesting interactive technology. A really excellent way to learn about the history of the country and the region. One of the highlights of my time in Muscat.

Yes. It's actually a bit hard to find/get into the compound it is in, but there is plenty of parking. I recommend using google maps to help you get there.
