Govt has ignored Mirik Lake though advertisement s there on airport. I feel I wasted time, money and opportunity by visiting Mirik Lake,. Water is dirty and surroundings not worth appreciable on most directions , only one direction has good look of trees. Few ducks are there but atmosphere is not enjoyable. Feel sorry for the hotel owners and locals... More

Not that fun to travel to Mirik only for boating. On the way you can see Nepal mountains. Also on the way their is Nepal checkpost where in you can do shopping. But no vehicles allowed you will have to walk or take Nepal taxi. For Mirik trip we were charged 2500/- for a sumo vehicle. We went from Gangtok... More

A little hamlet in the mountains with tea estates all around. A lovely place to relax and unwind. About 2 -3 hrs easy drive from Bagdogra airport.

The journey to Mirik amidst picturesque roads canopied by pine trees and surrounded by tea plantations offers much more than Mirik, the destination that is only known for its lake that offers boating.Sadly, there's nothing else that Mirik can boast of.

It was the middle of June. We reached at NJP station at 10:00 in the morning on one Wednesday. We hired a Sumo Gold outside the NGP station to proceed to Darjeeling-the hill station. After passing through Siliguri town and there after 30-40 min more drive, we saw the Simul Baari tea garden on the both sides. After 1 hour,... More

Me and my hubby were at Mirik in Feb of this year and it was a splendid experience. We have started our journey from Darjeeling taxi stand by hiring a small car with a nice driver. His charge was Rs. 1800 for a return journey of Darjeeling-Mirik-Darjeeling. We started around 8:30 am. On the way sceneries were just Wow! We... More

The lake town of Mirik is nestled at the foothills of the mountains on the border of India and Nepal. The road to Mirik from Ghoom is very picturesque, winding through lush pine forests on both sides of a well maintained motorable road. One passes through the town if Pashupati, which is the Indo-Nepal border and later through the beautiful... More

We did a day trip from Darjeeling to Mirik. The route was phenomenal. The mountains, valleys, gardens, people and markets along the way make the trip worth it. Mirik is a lake with a garden. There are a couple of restaurants and a park where youngsters hangout. There are paddle boats and horse riding around the lake. It could be... More

If you are only going to see the lake then it is not worth. Otherwise while coming from Darjeeling take this route because in the route you will get to see the border of Nepal and scenery and road is also good. The lake itself does not offer anything.
