We visited this museum after the Valley of the Temples. It is very big and full of interesting artefacts and historical information of the area. Well worth a visit but maybe not after spending 3 hours at the Valley of the Temples.

Visited the day after walking through the valley of the temples. A much better museum than we imagined, we are glad that we had a guide to pick out the key highlights, as otherwise there is a lot to get though!

One should do this possibly before going into the valley of the temples! Incredible richness of vessels. Very well organized and displayed

This museum houses the finds from the Valley. Fascinating to see the extremely skilled objects (pottery etc) from bronze age to Roman times found in the Agrigento area.

This Museum was a stop on a tour. Our guide was excellent. Not sure how much most English speaking visitors would get as much as we did. You might look into English listening device or engaging a guide might be recommended.

This displays many of the finds from Agrigento, and is especially nice to see the telamon from the Temple of Jupiter displayed upright. There are more excavated areas of Agrigento north of the museum, although not of great interest. One major surprise is that photography...More
