In the first part of the church the style is Gotic Chiaramont; The presbytery is Baroque and Renaissance style is expressed onthe façade of the bell tower. Is a different monument, but very interesting.

Peaceful cathedral, located on hill. It is on restoration but open for visitors, free. Located not far from central street. 10mins walk.

We got a special tour of the Cathedral arranged by Mudicar. A young woman caretaker took us through the main church, and up, up, up into towers and hidden rooms. The ceiling of the main church are fabulous and there are some special frescoes. climbing up into the tower, she opened an ancient door - still with the original locking... More

At the time of writing there were extensive restauration works going on. The access to main entrance was fenced off as well as much of the interior. It was still possible to get a good view of the façade of the dome and see some of the interior. It must be a splendid architectural site filled with art treasures once... More

Thanks to very knowledgeable and committed young volonteers who take you around you can have access to places that would be otherwise closed. Very recommended and highly rated, you pay a very low fee for an incredible service

The church is nice inside, but the tower is not so special. We paid 3 € to go up, but we saw actually nothing. For the entrance in the church you dont have to pay

The Ancient Greek ruins of Agrigento, Sicily are worth spending the day touring. Our cruise ship stopped here for the day and we spent the morning being guided through the aging Temples situated on the hilltops of the area as our guide explained in great detail about the architecture and the culture when these buildings were in use. All of... More

Duomo di Agrigento is still undergoing repair work so the front is behind fencing, although they have left windows in the fencing to allow you to see the front face of the cathedral and take photos. Currently worth visiting if only for the interesting plaster cast shoes (think converse) that are littering the steps to the Cathedral itself. The tour... More
