We made an afternoon trip from Cefalú to Santuario Gibilmanna. It is around 15 kilometers away in a hilly road. I love driving in this kind of roads, but my family was not so happy (I do not recommend to go if anyone in your...More

We drove from Cefalu to Gibilmanna, and on to Castelbuono. Excellent day trip from Cefalu! Religiously important Gibilmanna was interesting and atmospheric. Not as old or historically significant as Duomo di Cefalu, but if you are going into the Madonie Park and mountains, do stop....More

Our visit to this church - sadly very unimpressed - part of the altar area had scaffolding - very little to see in the church - the windows were nothing like stained glass windows - and people asking for money at each of the step...More

It's quite a drive from Cefalu (about 14km) but worth it. It's a lovely church, and important Marian sanctuary, and great countryside.

Interesting place with a fascinating history. Quite a long drive from Cefalu as the road is very windy, but aren't they all? We were unlucky to visit on a very cloudy day, but the views from the belvedere in front are spectacular. Worth a trip...More

Visited with large family, we all went in to church and sat down for a peaceful time. A welcomming place, tidy and well kept outdoors.

The church itself is quite dramatic in its position with views across the facing hills down to the distant coast. Once past the church the grounds provide a very interesting walk.

The scenery is and advantage, the museum is quite nice. A lot of different items, that seemingly don't fit together , but then you realize they all have something to do with the convent.
