We booked in advance to visit this Museum to ensure that we would see the Etruscan tombs as well as the displays. The displays were very good but we haven't been to any other for comparison. Our tomb visit was arranged for 4pm and we...More

We have spent a lot of time visiting museums and tomb complexes that show Etruscan materials. This museum is almost on par with Villa Giulia in Rome, and somewhat better that the museum in Volterra, IMHO. The museum was built specifically to house Etruscan finds,...More

One of several excellent museums in Tuscany with extensive and fascinating Etruscan collections. If you are in to "Etrusciana" this is a "must-see," though if you have seen the Etruscan collections in Rome or Florence, this might appear to be more of the same. We...More

Chiusi is a lesser known but very important centre of Etruscan history. The Museum manages to incorporate a lot of remnants of centuries of history without being cluttered or boring. It highlights what has been found locally - and what finds. Well done for keeping...More

This museum gives you a very good picture of the etruscans, those so interesting ancient people. The museum is not too big but ccontains a very good collection of vases, statues, household goods, jewellery etc. not forgetting the burial artefacts.

Very nice cozy museum chiefly on one floor (and smaller basement) full of ancient Etruscan artifacts, also of interest for the visual confrontation you can have between Greek vases and Etruscan rip offs....along with many unique pieces like fibulaes, ear rings, mirrors of the era,...More

We traveled to Chiusi to return a rental and then catch the train, but arrived a day early and found Chiusi most delightful. The Museo Archeologico Nazionale contained artifacts unique to the area. Made us realize just how much must be still buried throughout Italy.
