I have visited this church many times, with friends over the past 10 years and have still not changed my opinion.Unfortunately, at the moment, the best thing about this cathedral is under wraps. The exterior, when not being renovated is really lovely, with a variety...More

What a beautiful cathedral. Although undergoing some renovations, the church can still be viewed, although not all of it. It is quite lovely, very ornate with brilliant art adorning its walls and a great feeling a peace inside. I am always amazed by the brilliant...More

This imposing church in the main square is currently undergoing renovation so the façade is not visible. You can still visit the interior although ceilings are part obscured by shrouds. As with many of the churches we visited in the Emilia-Romagna region, the interior is...More

The stunning interior of this ancient cathedral has witnessed many historic events in the life of Ferrara and the Este family. No visit to the city would be complete with looking inside

The interior is not all that special and their is netting all over the ceiling probably due to falling plaster. The facade is undergoing a BIG renovation. The tower side looks nice, however. If you are visiting Ferrara of course you will walk by it,...More

Front of cathedral is covered in scaffolding at present so one cannot see any of the unusual frontage. Inside the cathedral is nothing special.

As of June 2016, the facade of the cathedral is undergoing renovation and, unfortunately, is not visible. The interior has a bit of a Miss Havisham feel; red lamps, netting covering the nave and more than a bit of decay. Interesting contemporary crèche with carved...More

I am planning a trip to Italy next year and I would like to know if there are fees for entering the cathedral?
