Splendid square, Grosseto is really underrated because this piazza can compete in beaty with other squares in Tuscany.

Lovely Piazza with a migthy Duomo in underrated Grosseto
Apr 2019 • Couples
After strolling along the charming walking street Corso Giosuè Carducci you'll end up at the Piazza Dante. It's hard to miss with the impressive Duomo Di Grosseto, which is a little-known masterpiece. After the less-impressive outskirts of Grosseto, this is a real highlight in the compact and charming Historic Center of Grosseto, which is still very underrated I'd say.

The Piazza is pretty quiet on a sunday afternoon and many shops and restaurants are close (or close up at lunchtime). But we did come for a bit of a quiet walk and relaxing time that day, so it was perfect for that.

Besides the Duomo, the equally impressive Palazzo della Provincia will catch your eye as well as the Monumento a Leopoldo II right in the middle of the Piazza. It's a nice place for a quick stroll, or just to sit down and the the whole scene in.

Around the piazza there are a good number of restaurants and some shops. What's missing is a public toilet, so you just gotta get some coffee somewhere.

A really nice place, well worth spending an afternoon or so.

History abounds
Jun 2017
Just love walking around and admiring the history in this very quaint town, located inside the walls of Grosseto. There is so much to love. Lots of eating places and shops. Sitting outside eating pizza and had the best seafood in one of the local cafes.

Cute little square with a Florentine feeling
Aug 2017 • Family
This square is the only thing to really see in town, which is very small (apart from surrounding walls). The Duomo is very nice and has a florentine look to it.
Great place to just sit down and relax or have a drink in any nearby restaurant or bar.

Very nice piazza
Apr 2017 • Couples
We were there in spring 2017, we saw old men and women gather to chat.
The piazza is surrounded by the duomo and cafe, city hall.
It is a very special place to watch and relax 👍😊

Beautiful place!
Jul 2016 • Family
This is a very nice square and the nearby church is beautiful. Grosseto is a lively little town for foodies and those interested to do some great shopping without the stress of a large city. You can easily find paid parking (60 cents per hour) just outside the walls.

Piazza Perfecto
May 2016 • Couples
Surrounded by the duomo, the official buildings and centered by a statue that documents the history of malaria through the vision of an ill little boy and a man stepping on a snake, this piazza is the heart of Grosseto.
