A special place.

Beautiful island, really very lovely. Special costal walks with a view of the clear blue, turquoise and acqua marine waters. Small but unique beaches. Proud, kind islanders. Fantastic stone-walled castle town at the top of the island. Wonderful port area to sit and watch the boats moor and move around. A relaxed, slow pace of life. If you respect the island and behave with respect, humility, grace towards the island and islanders they reciprocate with the most beautiful of smiles and generosity of spirit. Important to limit the number of day - visitors/cars or educate tourists to respect the environment and island life. Promote quality instead of quantity in all areas even in or especially in the busy summer season. We love Giglio island and the special people who live on the island.

I come at Giglio sinds I am a child. It didn’t change at all. It is a very autentic vivid island with both beautiful see and lovely tracking possibilities.

Beautiful!

Stunning island with so much to see! Highlights are the medieval village of Giglio Castello, the beautiful beach and clear waters in Giglio Campese and the pretty Giglio Porto where the ferries arrive from the mainland. Stunning nature reserve at Punta di Capel Rosso.

Loved it

Little known island and I want to keep it that way. Wonderful place to relax, eat fresh fish and enjoy the water. I would suggest renting a boat and just exploring.

Classic European island experience. Perfect food. Perfect water to dive and in our case, wonderful friends to spend it with!

Gorgeous island!

We had an amazing day trip to Giglio, rented a small boat to go swimming & snorkeling and explored the harbour. The island has a rugged beauty, great restaurants, beaches and plenty of activities. A day wasn’t really enough, if you can plan to stay overnight or longer to truly relax and enjoy the island. Good to know: taxis can be hard to get, we took a bus from the port - it was crazy hot, crowed & took 30 minutes. There are water taxis as well and lots of opportunities to book tours of the island.

Marvellous small island
Sep 2018
Giglio is a small island with only three little towns, Porto, Castello and Campese, but it's a great place to visit and in late September there is a Cantina in Castello where you buy food made by the locals and enjoy live music. There are four beaches as well as places to snorkel and dive. Overall really interesting to visit.

The island of Giglio is truely magical. We stayed at hotel Arrenella close to an amazing clean beach with clear blue water, great food , beautiful people.
The 3 villages are very different from eachother si you can truely enjoy Italian variety.
We love this place and hope to be back

Very beautiful island
Jul 2018
We went only for one day on Giglio and we fell in love with it. we regretted immediately that we didn't book accommodation on the island and stayed in Porto Santo Stefano. It is less touristy and has a genuine vibe and terraces. Love it and hope to be able to spend at least 5 more days there. Because we didn't travel by car, we could only go to a beach and didn't see the virgin ones we read about. Also because it was too hot we didn't stop to visit the castle, which looked amazing.
