Construction of this church started in 15th century but it was finished at the end of 17th century. Located on a small square, the nice facade is inviting you inside. There you will find another example of Lecce baroque style - richly decorated with animated spiral columns full of birds, angels, swirls, scrolls, garlands, sculptures and more. Large main altar... This is the first church we went into in Lecce and therefore hadn't succumbed to "chiesa overload" which you can tend to get after you have drifted into another of the 26-or-so churches in Lecce! Really lovely church near to the centre and definitely worth a visit.

This church is nice such as the other churches in Lecce. The characteristic of this church is that the upper part of the facade is missing. I think has been damaged and just fallen in the past.

Of all the churches I visited this was my favourite. The interior is surprisingly bright given the dark wooden ceiling. A beautiful altar with some lovely pictures in the individual chapels. Worth a visit on a walking tour around Lecce. Personally, I think this church is more worthy of a visit than Santa Croce.

A very beautiful church. Next to it is a big hotel , and it looks as though they have a restaurant. We just walked by and the piazza was wide and impressive.

Rather unusual, this baroque church has a single octagonal nave - a more intimate setting than the wide other baroque churches in Lecce. Look at the ceiling - it's papier-maché. Worth a stop once you are in the downtown centre.

One of my favourites. I was right next to our B&B so the first one we visited. It's small but lovely inside.

This little church was surprisingly ornate inside. The art and architecture are beautiful.
