What a great place to visit. The winemaker and his wife were passing through the tasting room and spoke to us at length. What an interesting place and the staff was wonderful. If you have a chance make sure to stop by. It is definitely worth the trip. The wines were wonderful. We ordered a case and shopped it home.

This ancient wine cellar is a must see when visiting Montepulciano. Enter through the building on the piazza grande for an unbelievable experience. As you descend lower and lower into the depths of this amazing wine cellar you will find yourself surrounded by ancient caves where wine storage has taken place for centuries. As we continued deeper and deeper in... More

When you first enter this winery, you don't realize how huge the cellars are ! This winery has two entrances - Enter from piazza grande for the maximum effect - you will climb down a couple stairs and then enter the stunning cellars. For euros 3, you get to taste some of the yummiest wines. If you have to visit... More

The history of this winery is incredible! We had a lovely private tour and tasting and were accomodated on a busy day of groups. The wine is great and made even more special by the overall wonderful experience! A must see in Montepulciano!

I've said it in other reviews, but I'll mention again how cool it is that several of the wineries in Montepulciano allow the public free access to their aging caves. It's an incredible look at history and beauty that is only available on costly private tours if at all in other wine regions. It's clear that the wine makers in... More

Cantina de' Ricci, in the heart of Montepulciano, is a 15th century wine cellar still in use today. The walk down the stairs and through the cellar filled with casks is fun and free. At the end of the walk is a wine tasting bar where one may taste three wines for three Euro (or free with a purchase.)

The Cellar walk was awesome! You are below the city viewing where they age their wines. There is even an Etruscan Cave! The wine was not our favorite but it was worth the trip to see the underground area. :)

The walk through the historic cellars is amazing. The tasting room felt intimate and entertaining. The wines were fantastic. The lady who served us was a delight to talk with about wines, life, travel, history, and politics. Overall, a delightful experience!

We had a great time walking through the cellar and tasting the really nice wines. But the best part was the woman who served us the wines (didnt catch her name). She took the time to chat with us about Italian history, different wines from different parts of history, and the similarities between Donald Trump and Silvio Berlusconi. Loved it!

Crazy wine cellar, lots of steep steps with slanting steps, that you need to hold the railing. But fun walking down and up, just the same. Such experiences as this are part of this wonderul town. A very friendly and kind Holland woman gave us the tastings. Great wine and a wonderful Vin Santo.
